RestorEcology is permitting a 35-acre natural habitat restoration project on Edwards Branch and four tributary streams near Goldsboro, NC in Wayne County. A portion of the project will be located adjacent a newly-constructed solar farm. Existing wooded buffers along the streams will be preserved and cropland areas will be planted with native hardwood trees to reduce fertilizer inputs into the streams.
Nitrogen (lb) and Neuse riparian buffer credits will be available for sale to offset stormwater and buffer development impacts starting in Q3 2025. The project service area is the Neuse River Basin HUC# 03020201, excluding the Falls Lake Watershed.
