RestorEcology has begun permitting a 33-acre natural habitat restoration project on Horse Branch and one of its tributary streams near Grantham, NC in Wayne County. Existing hardwood swamp along Horse Branch will be preserved, and native hardwood trees will be planted in cropland areas to improve water quality.

Nitrogen (lb) and Neuse riparian buffer credits will be available for sale to offset stormwater and buffer development impacts starting in Q3 2025. The project service area is the Neuse River Basin HUC# 03020201, excluding the Falls Lake Watershed.
